Bethesda Lutheran Communities
Bethesda Lutheran Communities is a national organization whose mission statement is "to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through services that share the good news of Jesus Christ." In addition to offering short-term care and supported living, Bethesda provides annual summer camps in cities across the country. Volunteers and workers strive to show Christian love to all people as they serve residents and campers.
YMCA
The YMCA was only recently added as Phi Beta Chi's second national philanthropy. Countless YMCA locations around the country enable people from all walks of life to stay active and healthy. In fact, the Y's three areas of focus include youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Although originally founded to provide housing for young Christian men, the YMCA now provides athletic facilities, youth camps, and programs for kids, teens, and parents alike.
Around the community, the sisters of Phi Beta Chi also volunteer at the Iowa Children's Museum where we help facilitate organized events and enjoy working with area children.
