Sisters set aside a few hours each Monday night for our chapter meetings. This year, our chapter meetings are at 7 p.m. Associate Members also meet additionally as they progress through New Member Education. Aside from chapter, sisters also attend Greek Life Educational, events, and more. Our Sisters also volunteer at area places such as the Children’s Museum in Coralville and with Lutheran Campus Ministries. All of our sisters also attend study tables and various socials throughout the semester.
How much does it cost?
The first semester costs $375, which includes a $50 fee due at the induction ceremony, $225 due to the national organization, and $100 due to Chi Chapter. After the first semester, the cost of membership is $300 per semester. Payment plans are available and encouraged!
What leadership opportunities are available?
Chi Chapter is full of opportunities for sisters to lead! Many members take on leadership roles after just one semester in the sorority. Positions such as Membership Director, Financial Director Chair, Chaplain, Historian, and Education Director are just a few of the leadership opportunities that are open to all members. Elections are held every November and one takes full responsibility of a role in January.

Scholarship
What GPA do I need to maintain?
Sisters must maintain a 2.5 Cumulative GPA and a 2.0 Semester GPA.
What is a study table?
Our sisters study together. Each semester sisters must attend a certain number of study tables with other sisters. Associate Members need only attend three, while Active Members must attend five. A study table is a predetermined study time between two to three sisters for at least two hours.
What if I have a school conflict during an event?
Talk to us so that we can work something out. While many events are required, we certainly understand that school must come first, so there may be times where an exam or a class coincides with a required event. If that is the case, a sister only needs to submit a simple form to the Executive Vice President and can then miss the event.
Social
What's the social life like?
Sisters in Phi Beta Chi have a social calendar not only with each other but also around campus. Sisters attend Greek Week festivities, Greek Life functions, socials with other sororities, and numerous in-house activities.
Do you have a formal?
Yes we do! In the fall Phi Beta Chi holds our Semi-Formal, while in the spring we hold our Formal.
